Hempstead Church
All Saints Church, Hempstead-by-Holt is both interesting and unusual in its development. Over the centuries the building has been greatly altered and it retains features of many periods. The original church stood to the north of the present building, and when the Saxon church was demolished , the tower, the original west wall of the nave and part of the north wall alone were retained. The most recent addition was in the 20th century when the thatched Apse was added in 1928.

The church is lovingly cared for by its congregation, and is always open for prayer and reflection. The Holt Country Park circular walk skirts the edge of the churchyard, and the church makes a wonderfully peaceful haven for a cool rest midway on the walk.
All Saints is part of the Barningham Benefice, and two services take place each month. Details of these are in the Village Diary.
